Veterinary referral process.

Veterinary referral is helpful for many reasons. A vet referral ensures a successful multi-discipline approach for your animal, allows for direct and clear communication about your animal’s wellbeing, and helps Dr. Taylor provide the most comprehensive chiropractic care she can. Dr. Taylor often refers her clients back to their veterinarians for various issues as well.

In Minnesota, veterinary referral is required. If you and your horse live in MN, we will need to go through this easy veterinarian referral process before your visit. Simply fill out the form below and Dr. Taylor will reach out to your vet to start the process.

In Wisconsin, veterinary referral is not required, but the legislation is honestly a bit confusing to interpret for many equine professionals. If you and your horse live in WI, Dr. Taylor does not need to go through the referral process to assess and adjust your horse, but she prefers it. It is best to have all of your horse’s care team on board for chiropractic treatment!

Dr. Taylor will try her best to help your animal in the most natural, non-invasive way possible. However, that is often not all that is needed. Having a fantastic vet on your horse’s care team is an absolute cornerstone to their wellness. Lameness evaluations, joint injections, surgical interventions, yearly maintenance, health certificates, and more are an important part of many horse’s care. These procedures are only performed by your veterinarian.
